Karaoke sessions to push Channel V's new show 'Ishq Unplugged'

MUMBAI: Channel V launched a two city 'live karaoke session' campaign last week to promote its new show 'Ishq Unplugged'.

The fiction show launched on 7 March 2016 and airs from Monday toFriday at 7.30 pm with main leads Mohit Gaur and Shruti Prakash. V has kept its hoary connection with music alive with this one. The show has a backdrop of a singing competition called, 'India’s Star Duo’ which both protagonists want to win for their own reasons. The karaoke sessions in a popular coffee shop in suburban Mumbai last week gave audience contestants an opportunity to sing along with the stars of the show as well as win goodies.

While Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and Twitter have all been pressed into service to promote the show, the karaoke idea is a first for the channel.

Speaking on the karaoke session activity, Mohit Gaur commented, "'Ishq Unplugged' is a show that brings together an unlikely singing pair who is from completely different worlds. The show is a mix of singing and a great storyline that fans will love. I love interacting with the public and karaoke was a great way to meet them. The karaoke activity was a fun experiment from the start and hope for many more such ways to meet audience face to face."

Apart from 'Ishq Unplugged', Channel V also airs dance fiction show 'D4 Get Up And Dance' (at 7 pm, Monday to Friday), 'Sadda Haq - Season 2’ (at 6.30 pm, Monday to Saturday), teen crime show 'Gumrah: End of Innocence’ (at 7 PM on Sunday) and action-packed romantic drama showcasing two life-times - 'Mastaangi’ (6 pm, Monday to Saturday).
