Star-studded music experience Sensation wows Hyderabad

MUMBAI: With a line up of international DJs such as Lost Frequencies, Afrojack, Axwell, Laidback Luke, and their resident DJ Mr. White, Hyderabad became the first city in India to host Budweiser Sensation – the EDM music festival that happened over the weekend.

On 5 March 2016, Gachibowli Stadium transformed into a never-ending white-oasis for the larger-than-life night. The electronic music scene in India is growing at a fast pace and Budweiser Sensation offered fans an experience of the supreme form of global electronic dance music to young Indian enthusiasts who thronged the venue.

As we witnessed the power packed night along with more than 15000 people uniting in white, what hit us was the power and the charisma of music, and the stunning set up that swept up all in its frenzy.

From the gigantic welcome to the ‘Pleasuredome’ 360 degrees stage, the dazzling lights, the impeccable sound, the dancers, the fireworks, every little aspect was seamlessly done by the organisers. The Pleasuredome was rotating during the whole event, so the masses could have a sight of the DJs performing.

The crowds were obviously excited to see Mr. White, who is also Budweiser Sensation’s resident DJ, as well as Dutch deep house artiste Lost Frequencies, who is well-known for his groovy tunes. Both of them performed in India for the first time and received an enthralling welcome when Lost Frequencies played his remixed version of Armin van Buuren’s ‘In And Out Of Love’.

Next up was Axwell, former member of the band Swedish House Mafia. He literally nailed his set with his very new single ‘Barricade’. He did not disappoint, and made certain everyone danced to his moves. Be it Swedish House Mafia’s ‘Don’t You Worry Child’, Jack U’s ‘Jungle Bae’, Calvin Harris’ ‘How Deep Is Your Love’, Axwell /\ Ingrosso’s various tracks, including ‘Can’t Hold Us Down’, ‘This Time’, and ‘Sun Is Shining’ among others, it was a treat for the eyes and ears. And when he played ‘Opus’ by Eric Prydz, the entire audience was into a mesmerized zone and it was a standout moment.

The Dutch electro house music producer/DJ, Afrojack came on stage amidst a massive roar from the audiences. He indeed played an intense set, where he dropped bangers after bangers with persistent energy.

Last but not the least, the closing act of the night was Laidback Luke’s power packed set. The audience got to hear a remixed version of Hardwell’s ‘Spaceman’, Alesso and Calvin Harris ‘Under Control,' Dillon Francis and DJ Snake. Nevertheless, he tried to play the India connect card by playing ‘Baby Doll’ and ‘Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan’ back to back in his set. We were equally surprised to hear the tracks. We swayed to the hypnotic synths. With Budweiser Sensation’s debut in India, Hyderabad actually showed us how to party.
