Ilaiyaraaja Ayiram logo unveiled

BENGALURU: The first look of the logo for Ilaiyaraaja Ayiram, a grand event to honour the composer’s achievement in scoring music for a thousand movies in 40 years of his musical career, has been unveiled.

The logo was unveiled by Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja himself. The event will take place on 27 February 2016 at YMCA Nandanam, Chennai. Eminent personalities from the film fraternity including veteran producer Panju Arunachalam, actors Prabhu and Lalitha Kumari, Sri Kalaipuli S Dhanu (President of Tamil Film Producers’ Council), G Shiva (FEFSI), T Shiva, Sathyajyothi Films’ Thiagarajan, music director S A Rajkumar, attended the unveiling of the logo.

Veteran producer Panju Arunachalam, who introduced Ilaiyaraaja through his movie ‘Annakilli into the film industry said, “I am here not just to cherish his achievement in composing thousand movies, I wish the music maestro continues to accomplish greater feats in the years to come.”

On the occasion, Ilayraja said, “In my point of view, music composition for thousand movies is just a number. I cannot be proud of myself for this. When they said the event is a tribute for my music, I consider that it will be a tribute for the almighty who has gifted me with a wonderful talent of music. So I am glad to take part in this function.”

The event will be attended by the large majority of his fans, musicians and celebrities from all over the country.

Said producer Kalaipuli S Dhanu, who is also president of Tamil Film Producers’ Council, “We would rise to the occasion to support this mega event to honour the music maestro and I feel thankful to Vijay Television for organising this great tribute.”

Said Prabhu, “He has composed music for my movies which became a hit numbers, so he has helped me become who I am today.”

Tamil film Producers’ Council manager T Shiva said, “As a token of gratitude, the entire film industry will be present to honour Isaignani for his successful journey in scoring music. In this show, evergreen songs which are near to everyone’s heart from Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja’s composition will be performed in front of him.”
