14-hour long music concert in Mumbai on 11 February

MUMBAI: Mumbai music lovers will witness a wave of pure classical music with santoor maestro Rahul Sharma, sitarist Shahid Parvez and tabla player Taufiq Qureshi along with other artistes performing at a 14-hour-long concert in Mumbai on 11 February.

The music at the concert will segue through different moods from soulful to cheerfulness. The renowned musicians will perform various ‘prahars’ reliant to the various times of the day.

The concert celebrates the golden jubilee of Brooke Bond Taj Mahal Tea, a brand that has been synonymous with classical music as it incorporates the ideology to its advertisements.

It is being held at the Brooke Bond Taj Mahal Tea House at Bandra West in Mumbai. The gig will start at 8 a.m. and go on till 10 p.m., read a statement.

Other artistes to perform are key-boardist Abhijeet Pohankar, vocalist Parveen Sultana, Ustad Ghulam Niyaz Khan and violinist Deepak Pandit.
