Screen Awards: 'Moh Moh Ke Dhaage' singers win 'Best Playback' awards

MUMBAI: Assamese singer and record producer Angaraag Mahanta, popularly known as Papon, won his first Screen Award for the category ‘Best Male Playback Singer’. Papon received the award for the song ‘Moh Moh Ke Dhaage’ for the Sharat Katariya’s rom-com movie ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’. The song was written by Varun Grover. Composed by Anu Malik, the movie’s soundtrack included vocals from Kumar Sanu, Sardha Sargam, Kailash Kher, Rahul Ram.

The celebration did not end for the ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ team, as Monali Thakur was awarded the ‘Best Female Playback Singer’ Award for the female version of ‘Moh Moh Ke Dhaage’. Thakur gained immense popularity and critical appreciation for the song ‘Sawaar Loon’ from ‘Lootera’, and later won the Filmfare Award for the same.

Debutant Vikranjit Singh’s romantic ‘Roy’ won the 'Best Music Album’. Amaal Mallik, Ankit Tiwari and Meet Bros Anjjan, the composers responsible for the movie’s soundtrack, recorded seven tracks that featured singers like Arijit Singh and KK. The film's background score was composed by Sanjoy Chowdhury.

Other winners of the night included ‘Bajrani Bhaijaan’ for ‘Best Movie - Popular Choice’, while ‘Talvar’ won the Jury’s Choice. In Popular Choice, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone won the ‘Best Actor’ awards. Kabir Khan won ‘Best Director’ for ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’.
