MUMBAI: We are sure that you have heard of music therapy – which can heal people- but have you heard about something as bizarre as it scaring off animals off in field. Well, Indian rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, who is famous among not just the youth, but also Bollywood biggies, is now also the farmers’ favourite as well, for his music is being used to scare off some scary animals.

As per recent reports, Singh’s music is helping farmers from Uttarakhand get rid of wild boars. The animals had been destroying crops in Uttarakhand, and the issue was turning out to be a nightmare for farmers. It further escalated to the government declaring the boars as pests and sanctioning their culling. However, even this failed to keep the wild boars off the fields.

However, what did work in keeping the animals away is Singh’s songs. Farmers gradually realised that the boars run away when songs by Honey Singh and a few other rappers are played loud. They have also been playing Bhajans, which have not only kept wild boars away, but also other wild animals.

Farmers from these villages now have speakers located on logs across their field that are constantly playing the rappers’ tracks.
