Punjabi composer Gurkanwar venturing into DJing

MUMBAI: Punjabi music composer, Gurkanwar Singh Sra, aka GK, best known for his music composition for ‘Yaaran Da Katchup’ is all set to explore a new avenue. The musician will be venturing into the world of DJing with his long-time DJ friend - Saurabh. The two have come together as ‘GuSa’ - a combination of the first two letters of both their names.

The composer, who is serious about DJing said, “I really want ‘GuSa’ to turn out to be successful. This is my focus at the moment."

Furthermore, GK, who has never limited himself to any form of music, now plans to focus completedly on Electronic Dance Music (EDM). “I want to get more into the EDM space and create something new by adding a few elements of Indian music in it,” he said.

However, this will not mean that GK is going to move away from the Punjabi music industry. The composer is very much a part of it, and he will continue making Punjabi music in the future. In fact, he recently worked on a song with Neha Kakkar for an upcoming Punjabi film titled ‘Nidhi Singh’. Apart from this he also composed a single titled ‘Aadatan’, and featured in its music video. The song is currently at number four on 9x Tashan’s Top 9 songs chart.

GK, who hails from Ambala, has participated in both, national and international music contests. The track ‘Nede Nede’ from the film ‘Yaaran Da Kachchup’ which featured Indian pop queen, Alisha Chinai is one of GK’s biggest hits.
