Prime Minister Narendra Modi and culture minister remember contribution of maestro Ravindra Jain to cinema

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the passing away of noted music composer Ravindra Jain of multi-organ failure at the age of 71.

"Ravindra Jain will be remembered for his versatile music and fighting spirit. Pained on his demise. Condolences to his family and admirers", the Modi said.

Culture minister Mahesh Sharma said in the passing away of Ravindra Jain, the world of Indian Music has lost an eminent performer and composer of music. He will be remembered fondly as one of the most notable Hindi music directors, who composed music for several hit films such as ‘Chor Machaye Shor’ , ‘Geet Gaata Chal’ , ‘Chitchor’ and ‘Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se’.

Dr Sharma also remembered that Jain had composed music for several TV serials and gained fame for his rendition of music for Ramanand Sagar’s epic TV serial ‘Ramayana’ .
