Naitik Nagda creates a Navratri version of Martin Garrix's 'Animal'

MUMBAI: Naitik Kesri Nagda started his musical career with Kalyanji Anandji’s musical troupe ‘Little Wonders’ at the age of 10, and since then there has been no looking back for the talented percussionist. He went on to win ‘MTV Rock On’ with his band at the time, ‘Saadhak’, which unfortunately disbanded later on. However, took it in his stride and never let the set back keep him from making music.

Since then, he has featured in MTV’s ‘Coke Studio’ with Bollywood music composers Sachin-Jigar. And now with Navratri just around the corner, Nagda has crooned a Navratri version of Martin Garrix’s hit EDM track ‘Animal’.

The percussionist has added the dhol and tabla to Garrix’s track, and it is been appreciated by his fans. “Martin Garrix’s ‘Animal’ is one of my favourite EDM tracks. Hence, when I planned to mix dhol and tabla with EDM, the track had to be this one,” said Nagda, who usually performs live with DJs.

Speaking more about his music formula, he explained that every time he has used these instruments and jammed with a DJ to a dance track, his audience has always appreciated it. This is what encouraged him to create the track, particularly for the Navratri. “The crowd that attends the festival is young and they simply love EDM. Thus, I am sure that the track will connect with them,” he added.

The instrumentalist, who can play all percussion instruments, including African ones, has worked on yet another EDM track – Dillon Francis & DJ Snake’s ‘Get Low’. The track will probably be released sometime this week.

Nagda also revealed that he is trying to break into the Bollywood music composing space. “I am just waiting for the right time for things to get rolling,” stated the artist, who is often seen performing with Kailash Kher, Sona Mohaptra, Hard Kaur and Farhan Akhtar Live.
