MUMBAI: Songstress Asha Bhosle, who is grappling with the loss of her son Hemant, has expressed her inability to perform at an event to be graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.

The ‘Piya tu ab to aaja’ singer, whose versatility is enviable for musical talents, was slated to perform at the India Today Safai Singathon on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, with a host of other popular singers, including Daler Mehndi, Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam and others.
Modi, on his part, expressed condolences to the veteran singer.
