My FM outperforms all radio stations

MUMBAI: My FM, India's local FM network and the radio business of DB Corp Limited, India’s largest print media group amongst national dailies, posted an encouraging Q4 FY12-13 performance recording a YoY EBIDTA Growth of 27 per cent for Q4 from Rs 52.2 million to Rs 66.3 million while EBIDTA Growth for full year FY 13 is accounted at 74 per cent reflecting a substantial increase from Rs 123.4 million  to Rs 214.2 million.

YouTube releases five short films made by Anurag Kashyap films

MUMBAI: YouTube and the Public Diplomacy Division of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India today released five short films produced by renowned film director and script writer Anurag Kashyap and his directors for a short film contest titled “India Is...a visual Journey”. The five films were commissioned by YouTube under a joint initiative with MEA to showcase and celebrate India and her diversity on a global platform. Parliamentary Committee insists to promote community radio

NEW DELHI: Parliamentary Committee has expressed concern that as many as 230 applications are pending for grant of licences for community Radio and the process for clearing the proposals is very slow. The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology has however expressed satisfaction that a small scheme for strengthening the Community Radio Movement in India has been proposed in the Twelfth Plan.

New U2 album to be expected?

MUMBAI: Irish rock band U2 may soon be out with a new album. The iconic band, whose groundbreaking albums include ‘Joshua Tree’, ‘Achtung Baby’, ‘Zooropa’ could be nearing completion of a new studio album, according to the band’s fan site. According to reports, the band members spent the day at New York's Electric Lady Studios, along with musician- producer Danger Mouse, who was completing mixing duties.

French music industry records 6.7 per cent drop in sales for Q1 2013

MUMBAI: The French music industry has suffered a huge drop of 6.7 per cent in sales for its first quarter of 2013 (Q1 2013). The country’s music industry body SNEP (Syndicat National de l’édition Phonographique) reported that physical sales saw a drop of 7.3 per cent drop in year-on-year to Euro77m ($100.2m). Digital Sales also experienced a 5.2 per cent slide to Euro 30.9m ($40.2m), contributing to an overall drop of 6.7 percent.
