OnePlus One to exclusively be released by Amazon India

MUMBAI: Amazon India will be exclusively launching the smartphone OnePlus One to customers on 10 February, it was announced. The value-for-money, premium smartphone was earlier available for purchase by only those who were sent an invite. But the phone now will be made available for everyone to buy. Invites were distributed via social media and through consumers who buy the phone.

The device sports a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM, a 5.5-inch 1080P display, 13MP camera with F2.0 aperture and Sony image sensor, 5MP front camera, 3100mAh battery, 4G-support and NFC. It runs on CyanogenMod 11S, a custom aftermarket community built distribution of Android developed by Cyanogen. The OnePlus One boasts 64GB inbuilt memory, which cannot be expanded. On the connectivity side, the device has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, HSPA+, LTE and GPS.

Cyanogen was recently involved in a controversy where the High Court had placed a ban on the release of the OnePlus One. However, the ban has now been lifted.

The 64GB version of the OnePlus One will be selling for Rs 21,999.
