British audio giant Bowers & Wilkins enter India with three new products

MUMBAI: After almost 50 of its existence, British audio equipment manufacturing giant Bowers & Wilkins is finally entering the Indian market with the launch of three new products: T7 Bluetooth speaker along with the second generation of the P5 and C5 headphones.

According to online sources, Bowers & Wilkins entered the mobile headphone segment only when they were convinced that the source files had become better thanks to Apple iPod’s and iTunes which supported lossless audio. “We knew that we could not choose how people listen to their music, but we could definitely make the experience better,” said Bowers & Wilkins, director for global marketing and sales, Brian Devlin.

The P5 Series 2 is the second generation of the P5 headphone that the company had launched for its mobile users. The P5 Series 2 headphones have an on-ear design, but with a unique 40-inch driver. It also features premium leather in the ear-cups as well the headband.

The C5 Series 2 features a compact in-ear model, claiming major improvements compared to its predecessor. Despite the size, the C5 Series 2 earphones have a secure loop design that keeps it in place inside the ears. There is also a micro porous filter behind the drivers to ensure that the sound feels open and true.

The new T7 Bluetooth speaker has a micro matrix bracing system that protects the speaker while reducing vibration and resonance. It features two force-cancelling high-output bass radiators to deliver clean sonic performance.

The P5 Series 2 headphone is available for purchase at Rs 23,500, while the C5 Series 2 earphone can be bought for Rs 15,499. The new T7 Bluetooth speaker has a market price of Rs 29,900.

All three Bowers & Wilkins products are expected to release in India soon.
