Asus to launch ZenFone 2 on 23 April in India

MUMBAI: Come 23 April, Asus will launch the ZenFone 2 in India on 23 April. Media invites for a press event in New Delhi for the same have already been sent out. The ZenFone 2 was announced back at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada in January. Then, Asus also announced the ZenFone Zoom, which Asus India executives believe will launch sometime later in India.

The ZenFone 2 is notable for being the first smartphone to have 4GB RAM. It is also powered by the Intel Atom Z3580 quad-core SoC coupled with the PowerVR G6430 GPU and 3,000mAh battery on the back. It features a 5.5-inch 1080p fullHD display and is reinforced with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The device has a 13-megapixel 'pixelmaster' camera on the back and front, along with a 5-megapixel sensor. The phone will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop with the Asus Zen UI.

This smartphone is being offered in a myriad of memory options including 16/32/64GB options, while also offering a memory card expansion slot. The phone boasts dual-SIM capabilities and is expected to feature 4G LTE support for India.

The price of ZenFone 2 is rumoured to be less than Rs.30,000.
