MUMBAI: Qawwali numbers have always been a refreshing sound in Bollywood films. However, not all of them manage to make their way into the listener’s heart. Fortunately, there have been a few Bollywood qawwali’s that have not just survived time, but have also been loved over the years.

Here is our list of Qawwali songs that you must listen to

Humein To Loot Liya: This song from the 1958 movie ‘Al Hilal’ is one qawwali number that every Bollywood film lover is familiar with. ‘Humein To Loot Liya’ is an extremely catchy number and the royalty of this song is in its simplicity. Singer Ismail Azad Qawwal has done a commendable job here.

Teri Mehfil Mein Qismat: ‘Mughal-E-Azam’ (1960) is certainly one of the most famous films of the Hindi film industry. Similarly ‘Teri Mehfil Mein Qismat’ is an unforgettable number featuring Dilip Kumar and Madhubala. Sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Shamshad Begum, with music by Naushad, the track is a beautiful listen.

Parda Hai Parda: Singer Mohammed Rafi and music composers Laxmikant- Pyarelal have done an outstanding job with this fun qawwali song from the 1979 film ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’. Add to that Rishi Kapoor’s energetic performance, which makes ‘Parda Hai Parda’ a forever song.

Ae Meri Zohra Jabeen: ‘Ae Meri Zohra Jabeen’ is an evergreen qawwali song from the 1965 film ‘Waqt’. The song is sung by Manna Dey, composed by Ravi and enacted by Balraj Sahni. Perhaps one of the best things about this song, which has lyrics written by Sahir Ludhianvi, is Sahni’s dancing.

Hai Agar Dushman Zamana: This is yet another qawwali picturised on Rishi Kapoor in the 1977 film ‘Hum Kisise Kum Naheen’. The music is spectacular and it does not come as a surprise, considering R.D. Burman is the man who created it. ‘Hai Agar Dushman Zamana’ is definitely one of the finest musical offerings of Hindi cinema, and has vocals by Mohammad Rafi and Asha Bhosle.

Yaari Hai Imaan Mera Yaar Meri Zindagi: This song from 1973 movie ‘Zanjeer’ became an anthem for best buddies back then. Pran is the major attraction of this song, which is sung by Manna Dey and composed by Kalyanji- Anandji.

Chali Chali Kaisi Hawa: ‘Chali Chali Kaisi Hawa’ is one of those songs that you simply cannot miss if you are a Shammi Kapoor fan. In the video Shammi sings the song dressed up as a woman in the 1963 film ‘Bluffmaster’ with Saira Banu. However, the actual playback singing is by Shamshad Begum and Usha Mangeshkar, while Kalyanji-Anandji has given the music for it.

Aaya Tere Dar Par Deewana: ‘Aaya Tere Dar Par Deewana’ appeared in the 2004 Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta starrer ‘Veer-Zaara’. It is a beautiful qawwali sung by Ahmed Hussain, Mohammad Hussain and Mohammad Vakil.
