Birthday Special: Lea Michele's 'Glee' songs

MUMBAI:Lea Michele of ‘Glee’ fame turns a year older today (29 August, 2015) and on this occasion we get all the 'Glee' fans a list of cover songs sung by the actor-singer-writer. For the uninitiated the music of Glee has been a commercial success, with over 36 million digital single sales and 11 million album sales worldwide in 2011.

The series has been one of the most successful series with its first season being nominated for 19 Emmy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, six Satellite Awards and 57 other awards, with wins including the 2010 Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy. In 2011, the show once again won the Golden Globe for Best Television Series.

Let’s have a look at the list below. It also includes some of Michele’s original songs from her 2014 album ‘Louder.’

Take a Bow: The USP of Michele’s work is that she sings the songs a few notches better than their original singers but she maintains the feel of the original song. She does the same with this Rihanna number.

Firework: Michele looks adorable yet strong as she sings ‘Firework’ from Katy Perry’s album ‘Teenage Dream.’

We’ve Got Tonight: This Kenny Rogers and Sheena Easton song is a classic which Michele and Cory Monteith have sung.

Poker Face: Lady Gaga songs are meant to be a little over the top but Michele's performance on the same is beautifully as its an acoustic track. Though she gets the feel right.

Cry: The singer gives a power packed performance in this 2009, Kelly Clarkson release from the album ‘All I Ever Wanted.’

Taking Chances: This ‘Juno Award winner,’ Celine Dion song has been beautifully sung by Lea Michele in an audition scene in ‘Glee.’

Big Girls Don't Cry: This is yet another song performed at its emotional best by Michele alongside other Glee actors. The original song is sung by Fergie and it’s from the 2006 album ‘The Dutchess.’

Baby One More Time: This one is a replica of Britney Spears 1999 album ‘Baby One More Time.’

Cannonball: This is a song from Lea Michele’s 2014 album ‘Louder.’ Michele’s fans get to see her style in this album. This one’s a beautiful song.

On My Way: This is yet another song from Michele’s album ‘Louder.’
