Music legend Rahat Fateh Khan to perform at The O2

MUMBAI: Pakistan's celebrated qawwali singer Ustad Rahat Fateh Khan will perform his ultimate hits live at The O2, London on 14 August 2016 for the second time. Khan is the nephew of the late, world-renowned soloist Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Rahat's performance will coincide with India and Pakistan’s independence weekend celebrations. Ustad Rahat Fateh Khan has released more than 50 albums and had more than a hundred hits in Bollywood and Lollywood. Apart from the qawwali, ghazals and other light music are his forte. The qawwali singer, who has over six million followers on Facebook, while talking about his forthcoming show Ustad Rahat Fateh Khan said, “I'm very excited to be performing at The O2, London, for the second time, following my sold out tour in 2013.’’ The performance is the moment to meet the Independence Day celebrations for both Pakistan and India.

At this moment, he is one of the most talked about Pakistani artists in the world and his songs had featured on scores of several Bollywood and Lollywood films, including Bodyguard, Kalyug, Omkara, Dedh Ishqiya, My Name is Khan, Dabangg, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Drishyam, Rocky Handsome and the Hollywood film Apocalypto. He has been a judge on a TV talent show with Sonu Nigam in India and was the first Pakistani star performer at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in 2014.
