Three Deols are back with their humorous sequel Yamla Pagla Deewana 2. After the success of Yamla Pagla Deewana (YPD) in 2011, the sequel of it has arrived and is expected to hit the theatre on 7 June.  Sangeeth Sivan has directed this bollywood action comedy flick. Apart from the three Deols, the lead females in the film include Neha Sharma and Kristina Akheeva. Music brothers Sharib-Toshi have composed five original tracks for the film along with two remix version and one mash up version. Duo composer had made in a name through their participation in various reality shows as singers and now they are creating their name as music composers in the industry.

The title track has blasting and energetic music and is rendered by Singh, Mahadevan and Bhattacharya with lyrics highly influenced by Punjabi language. There is rapping in between the tracks by Rahul Seth which is not stretched along the whole track.

‘Changli hai Changli hai’ is a high energy song with huge influence of Marathi music and mostly it gives you the feel of the festive season with all the heavy drums. The way (Mika) Singh has rendered the song in his style has washed off the Marathi words somewhere. Meanwhile, Ghoshal has tried her bit to give the needed effect with the slight humming that is heard in Marathi songs but Singh has failed to give the needed effect which Ghoshal gives.

Heavily influenced Punjabi track ‘Suit Tera Laal Rang Da’ in the start gives a wedding feel. Nigam is singing lyrics that are based to woo the lady and Chauhan responds to Nigam in her style. Again there is loads of Dhol and heavy Punjabi music.

‘Main Taan Aidaan Hi Nachna’ is rendered by Dosanjh and additional vocals are given by three generation of Deols- Dharmendra, Sunny, Bobby and Karan along with Sachin Gupta. A bit of rapping is also present in the track. Try not to find meaning to lyrics as it is naughty number with no serious idea to display.

The final original track is ‘Jatt Yamla Pagla Ho Gaya’ that has bhangra-based music. Mika Singh and Mello have rendered the track. Lyrically, it seems like the title track of the film. Fast beats with Singh’s energy blends with the craze needed by the film.

Music composer Toshi Sabri has displayed his rendering skills in the track 'Sadi Daru Da Pani' which is the different version of Yamla Pagla Deewana the first track of the album. Other track in the album is ‘Jatt Yamla Pagla Ho Gaya’ version which is sung by other Sabri brother- Sharib.

YPD 2 Mash up is a good effort. This season seems to be a mix of various styles. After melodious tracks, now there is a set of Punjabi tracks for listeners. Overall, the music album is simple but uncertain if many will accept this to remain in their playlist. ‘Suit Tera Laal Rang Da’ will be played in many wedding this season hopefully.
