RAM Wk 11: AIR FM 2 Gold leapfrogs to Joint #1 in Delhi, #2 in Mumbai

* Radio Mirchi regains top spot in Delhi where Fever plummets by -3.4%

MUMBAI: The ICC Cricket World Cup worked its magic for AIR FM 2 Gold too, which has leapfrogged to Joint #1 in Delhi and the Number 2 spot in Mumbai per Week 11 of 2011 (13-03-2011 to 19-03-2011). AIR FM-2 Gold's ratings are bound to get better for Weeks 12 and 13 which was when it aired live commentary for the super-exciting quarter final, semi final and final matches featuring India.

In Delhi, Fever Fm continued its downward spiral, losing 3.4 percentage points in market share in Week 11 – nearly three times what it lost in Week 10 (1.2%), to close the week with a total of 19.2%  market share, which is marginally behind the week's joint leaders, Radio Mirchi and AIR FM-2 Gold, by 0.2%  Delhi saw Radio City and Red FM grow by 1.4% and 1.1% respectively. Radio City reached close to 11% market share (10.8%), growing significantly over its past 4 weeks' average of 9.4%. Red FM too grew from a past-4-wks' average of 9.1 to close Week 11 at 9.6%; last week, it was at 8.5%.

In Mumbai, Radio Mirchi retained its top spot to close its Week 11 market share with a 0.3% growth at 16%. It was followed by AIR FM-2 Gold at 14.1%, with Radio City (down 0.6%) close behind at 13.7%, followed by BIG FM at 13.6% and Red FM (down 0.9%) at 12.4% and Fever FM at 6.4% (down 1.2% over Week 10) at a distant number 6.

Bangalore saw BIG FM growing from 18.2% market share of Week 10 by 0.9% in Week 11 to a market share of 19.1 %, ahead of Radio Mirchi, which too grew by 0.5% to close Week 11 at 18.2%. Other stations that grew in Bangalore in Week 11 were SFM/RedFM by 0.6% and AIR FM Rainbow by 0.5%.

Kolkata, which seemed to have frozen last week, is still tepid in terms of movement in Week 11, seeing a high gain and drop of 0.4%. Radio Mirchi, with 21.8% market share,  retains its top spot with no change over last week, with BIG FM a distant No. 2 with a market share of 16.2% -- a 0.3% drop over Week 10. Friends FM, with a tiny growth of 0.2%, is still at No. 3 with 13.8% market share, and Aamar FM has returned last week's market share of 13% once again, to be at No. 4.
