For many, music is merely a song and dance sequence meant to entertain, titillate or excite. Song or poetic verse therefore, as means of protest and resistance is heard only on rare occasions, if at all. In this evening's concert JANAM invites vocalist Shubha Mudgal to share with music lovers repertoire that is symbolic of protest and resistance. Selecting verses by poets as diverse as Kabir, Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Sahir Ludhianvi, Majrooh Sultanpuri and Ibn-e-Insha, Shubha Mudgal sings this evening about communal harmony, peace and equality.
