Arties Festival India - Chamber Music Festival

The Arties Event Management company is the result of a creative collaboration between Gauthier Herrmann, cellist and winner of international music competitions, and Morgan Segui, a `cultural engineer, whose combined aim is to create artistic projects that are off the beaten track. Their music is resolutely international in approach.

Alexandra Laugerot-Brown (viola), a student of the Conservatoire National Suprieur de Musique (CNSM) in Paris, has performed under such conductors as Riccardo Muti, Sir Colin Davis and Kurt Masur and played at some of the most prestigious concert halls. In 2004, Alexandra was a member of the BBC Symphony Orchestra in London, with whom she has played in particular at the BBC Proms Festival and the Barbican Hall.

Alexis Cardenas (violin 1), born in 1976 in Maracaibo, Venezuela,  travelled at a young age to New York in 1991 to study with Margaret Pardee at the Meadowmount School, and at the Juilliard School, Pre-college Division. He has played with orchestras from around the world and given many recitals.

Mathilde Borsarello (violin 2), born in 1982, is an alumnus of the Paris CNR and has studied chamber music. In October 2003, she was a finalist in the International Violin Competition of Avignon. Since 2002, she has been dedicating herself to chamber music, and founded, with her sister cellist Delphine and the pianist Claudine Simon, the Trio Estampe, and they are currently studying a postgraduate chamber music course at the CNSM, Paris.

Romain Descharmes (piano), born in 1980, studied at the CNSM in Paris where he won four First Prizes (piano, chamber music, piano accompaniment and vocal accompaniment). He is a recipient of the Meyer Foundation Scholarship for cultural and artistic development  He has played at many cultural festivals in France, Lebanon, Portugal and Mexico.

Gauthier Herrmann (cello) is a member of the Trio con Fuoco, born out of the meeting of three young artists sharing the same passion for chamber music. They rapidly came to prominence in the musical landscape as chamber musicians of the new generation. Since its creation, the Trio has performed in France at numerous festivals and done concert tours too. They came to India during a 2003 tour and have also performed in Italy, Germany, Spain and Holland.
