As a part of the "The Beyonce Experience - 2007 World Tour," Beyonce Knowles, with ten Grammy Awards in her kitty, held a concert in Mumbai on 27 October 2007.

Beyonce might not have a great fan following in Mumbai, but when she appeared on the stage of the MMRDA Grounds, Bandra on Saturday night, the crowd just went bonkers. The fireworks and special effects the organisers had arranged added glamour to her silver body-hugging dress giving it an ethereal red shimmer. For a change, Beyonce wasn`t all alone for her Saturday night concert in Mumbai. Accompanying her 10-member all-woman band `Sugamama` were a couple of men too.

When the gates opened at 5.30 pm, the rage to get the nearest to the stage appeared like a mini-marathon run by the youth. The concert that lasted for just two hours did turn out to be a tad disappointing because it started almost an hour late and the crowd expected her to perform for a longer while. But with the crowd strength exceeding 15,000 and many stars studding this event, nothing could have made this concert more impressive. The crowd looked more enthusiastic when she sung songs like "Beautiful Liar," "Baby Boy," "Crazy in Love" and "Dangerously in Love" than the others. " Bootylicious" was the numero uno track that got the most response from the cheering fans. Her hip hop dance beats clubbed with cheerleaders added that required zing to the concert. Many spots on the ground marked groups of youngsters dancing in close co-ordination which looked a trifle `practiced and performed`, but aided the charged atmosphere on the grounds.

The 40-foot long stage seemed inadequate when Beyonce herself started swaying while singing and her gestures added madness to the already crazed audience, that comprised a peppy mix of youth and no-so-youthful too.The best part of the concert came after the break when Beyonce appeared in a golden pink ghagra choli and sang the poignant ballad "I love you" which brought tears to her eyes. Commented Karan Argade, "The stir about the fact that BEYONCE will be performing wasn`t seen as much as it was during Shakira`s concert in March this year. Nevertheless, we did get to see some craziness with the audience and with Beyonce herself. But I wouldn`t rate this concert as a great one." The presence of star bahu Aishwarya Rai Bachchan with sister-in-law Shweta Nanda, Sridevi along with husband Boney Kapoor and their daughter, Atul Agnihotri, Loy Mendonca, Vishal Dadlani, RJ Malini and singers like Ishita Arun couldn`t add much to the concert with their charisma because the crowd looked 110 per cent dedicated to just Beyonce. With tickets priced at Rs 1,650 and Rs 2,750; the crowd looked highly pleased with the Beyonce experience at the end and yeah, with this concert, Beyonce did win some more of the Indian fans for herself. This concert was organized by the Royal Challenge in partnership with the DNA Networks. RC were the ones that made the Shakira concert along with Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, Roger Waters, Deep Purple and Black Eyed Peas possible in India in the last few years.
