OSO strikes gold at Beijing too

MUMBAI: It wasn't just the boxers and shooters who brought home glory from Beijing. Bollywood too made some noise with the Israeli gymnastic team using Om Shanti Om's popular Dhoom Tana number for their routine.

The song did not prove very lucky for the team though which managed to secure the sixth position in the gymnastics category. The song ran for three minutes during the Israeli team's routine, with the tempo building up towards the end, to culminate in a formation by the Israeli girls.

Well, the director of the movie Farah Khan wasn't really surprised by this, she says, It's not the first time that the song has been used internationally  Yes, for a change, it's good news about OSO....

According to Farah,  the song has been used on an American show So You Think You Can Dance?, with a couple Katee and Joshua, dancing to the Indian tunes.

Vishal Dadlani, the music composer for the movie, says, When we make music, we always hope that it reaches every corner of the world – at least all the Indians across the globe. But it is a matter of pride when other cultures like your songs and give them due respect. And I am speaking for the entire Indian music industry and not just for Shekhar or myself. More than anything else in the world, I am glad we made Farah proud!...

Why won't the composer and director be happy? Ahem!! After all, it's the Olympics and the international market. Bollywood music continues its march ahead!
