MUMBAI: Ustad Zakir Hussain and Suresh Wadkar will be coming together for a concert at the Shanmukhananda Auditorium Mumbai on 8 July. The concert is scheduled on the auspicious occasion of Ashadi Ekadashi 

The two musicians have been freinds for a long time, however, they never have performed together. The JUly 8 concert would be their first performance together 

Conforming the news to Radioandmusic.com, Wadkar said, "Yes, we are coming together for the first time. I've have known Ustad Zakir Hussain since childhood but we never got any oppurtunity to play together. As we grew up, I eventually went towards Bollywood and films while he made a mark on the classical front."

Speaking about their repertoire for the evening, Wadkar said it he would be singing Lord Vitthal's bhajans.

Ashadi Ekadashi is the day for the huge pilgrimages to the god Vithoba of Pandharpur, a town in south Maharashtra, situated on the banks of the Bhima River (a tributary of the Krishna River).
