MUMBAI: Yahoo has signed a deal with music streaming service Spotify, replacing its old partner Rhapsody.

Spotify’s Play button will allow Yahoo users to listen to music without navigating from the page. The service will first be rolled on Yahoo Music and will then spread to other properties such as Yahoo Movies and Omg.

Spotify had previously signed such a deal with Facebook where its Play button was integrated on the site.

Yahoo had signed a deal with its previous partner Rhapsody in February 2008. The struggling internet giant is trying to improve its fortune by associating itself with an upstart such as Spotify. However, the service will not be available in India.
