Working with band means dealing with lot of issues: Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan

MUMBAI: Forming a band and jamming is something that most musicians and singers take pleasure in. But its completely reverse for ‘Mitwa’ famed singer Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan who has been associated with an alternative Pakistani band Fuzön in the past, stated that he would prefer focusing on his solo career rather than forming a band.

Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, Khan says, “Years back, I had formed a band but I myself disbanded it.  I was the one who walked out it. I had a bad experience which I would not like to face again so would concentrate in my solo career by singing for film and non-film songs.”

Khan introspects, “Working with a band means dealing with lot of issues like insecurity among the band members and creative limitations. There are times when band members cannot reach the same wave-length as yours then you will have to restrain yourselves from lot of things. It hampers your creative approach.”

With a deep thought, he concludes this discussion about the band by saying, “There is lot of issues with the band. I do not think I have the energy and time to go back and form a band and deal with the insecurities again.”

Currently, the Pakistani singer was in India for a talk show Sureeli Baat and his music assignments. “It was a wonderful experience participating in the show. The topic of discussion was soft-core.  We didn’t discuss anything that is controversial. Definitely, the program format is such that they wanted to show the hidden aspect of the singers and I have discussed issues that I have never spoken to any media about.”

Khan plans to launch an album within three-four months. “I am working on an album with music composer Kami and Shani. It will be coming out in next three to four months. We have not decided how many tracks there will be but mostly there will be eight or ten tracks,” Khan mentions. The trio-Khan, Kami and Shani have worked together for a track ‘Jera Vi’ of the film ‘Main Hoon Shahid Afridi'. “I enjoyed with them. They two are talented musician who understand my thoughts and needs. They were my first choice for the album,” highlights Khan.
