MUMBAI: Bollywood’s rollicking singer/composer Vishal Dadlani’s latest track 'Mar Jayian' from Vicky Donor has become one of the most hit songs from the album.
The Sufi rock song produced by Donn and Bann has been climbing up the charts with great reviews and has received more than 1.5 lakh hits on YouTube.
Commenting on the song Vishal Dadlani said, “This romantic song, 'Mar Jayian', has a lovely and fantastic tune to it. I am glad to have explored this song with Donn and Bann. They have done an amazing job with this song which is one of my favourites. I thoroughly enjoyed working with this very promising duo.”
The song features soft Sufi rendition by Dadlani and pleasing vocals by Sunidhi Chauhan in the midst of light-hearted soft-rock ballad orchestrations and qawalli format.
The sad version of the track featuring lead actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam is sung by Bann. Speaking on the track the producer duo said, “We are very happy that ‘Mar Jayian’ has done so well and are really thankful to John for giving us this opportunity. It’s been our first experience of bollywood and the kind of response we have received is overwhelming.”
The duo has composed background score for UTV next ‘Peter gaya kaam se’ and signed a upcoming thriller film.
Donn & Bann are Mumbai based music producer who received the limelight after winning the prestigious Great Indian Rock festival and were awarded an international tour to perform through Scandinavia and Europe. They have performed in festivals like ‘Sundance Festival’ in Estonia, Nottingham Festival in UK and Club Enigma in Brighton (UK).
