MUMBAI: Following the footsteps of its fellow competitor, Universal Music is now encashing on the rapidly blooming South Indian Music Industry. After foraying into Malayalam music industry last month, the label has re-entered Tamil market after a hiatus of 30 years.

Universal has acquired audio of Tamil film “Manam Kothi Paravai”. Composed by music director D Imman of ‘Maina’ fame, the album features five songs including karoke tracks sung by Javed Ali, Vijaya Prakash, Chinmay and more.  The album penned by Yugabharathi will be available across all mobile and other digital platforms by 12 April

Music Composer D Imman said, “I feel delighted to share that the pioneer of audio labels ‘Universal Music Group’...is coming back after long years into Tamil film industry. An Audio Label well known for its International and Indian repertoire and promoted innumerable musical artists across the globe. Universal Music India general manager – digital P K Prasannan said, “Universal has major plans to expand its business in South India in Film and Non Film Music. The Movie Manam Kothi Paravai produced and directed by S Ezhil and Music composed by D Imman is the movie we have chosen for our re-entry to the Tamil Market after a gap of three decades.”

The film starring Sivakarthikeyan is directed by S Ezhil.
