Universal Music launches Metallica and Lou Reed collaborative album

MUMBAI: After enthralling Indian fans in Bangalore, the hard rock band Metallica has launched their next album Lulu' in collaboration with the King of avant-rock Lou Reed on Universal Music India.

Universal Music India Saarc MD Devraj Sanyal said, To release Lulu on the back of the massive success of Metallica's super successful gig in Bangalore is one more opportunity for the Metallica fans to immerse themselves in the music of their favorite band and one of the biggest bands of all time. Songs like Iced Honey', Little Dog', Dragon' & Junior Dad' are representative of a new kind of sound not heard before. To Quote Metallica's guitar player Kirk Hamett It's definitely not a Metallica album or a Lou Reed Album…its something else. It's a new animal, a hybrid....

The Lulu project began in May 2011 at HQ studios in Northern California, with Lou Reed. The title â€?Lulu' is inspired from German expressionist writer Frank Wedekind's play  Earth Spirit and Pandora's Box, which tells the story of a young abused dancer's life and relationships, which are collectively known as the Lulu plays.

Lulu album is available in three formats – CD, CD Deluxe and Vinyl. Lou Reed and Metallica collaborated in 2009 to perform at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concerts in New York.
