Tips returns with Atif Aslam's third album after two year gap

MUMBAI: Music label Tips will soon release Atif Aslam's third album, as yet untitled.

The label which launched the Pakistani pop singer's two earlier albums- â€?Doorie' in 2006 and â€?Meri Kahani' in 2008, plans to launch the third album by August  Says Tips managing director Kumar Taurani, After the response we got for the earlier albums, we intend to launch the third album this year. We have entered into an exclusive contract with Atif Aslam till we launch the album....

The earlier albums, Doorie' and Meri Kahani' were composed by Tips in-house producer Sachin Gupta. Asked if the third album will be put together by Gupta again, Taurani says, We are still in the process of finalising the details. It need not be a solo composer this time and we might rope in multiple music directors to work on the album....

Aslam entered the Bollywood industry with his single Woh Lamhe' and went on to croon innumerable hits like Aadat', Tere bin', Pehli Nazar' etc. He was mooted as a Tips exclusive artist as many of his projects he sang for were acquired by the label. Atif instantly struck a chord with young listeners and then there was no turning back. Tere Bin' from Bas ek pal was our production and we assigned it to the filmmaker. We even invested in making video for Tere bin' where he was revealed to the audiences, it was the first ever time we invested in videos,... states Taurani.

Post Tere bin', Aslam was captured in promotional videos for Pehli Nazar mein', Bakhuda Tumhi Ho' and the latest Prince songs- Aa Bhi Ja Sanam', Kaun Hu Main' and a few more.

Post the Atif Aslam phenomena, Tips also launched other Pakistani acts like 'Jal-The band' and Ahmed Jehanzeb. The label has a tough time where bitter sentiments took over in India post the Mumbai terror attacks last year. The industry was divided whether cross-border artistes must be given an opportunity. But Taurani shrugs it off adding, We could not launch an album then but now Indo- Pak relations are on a better note and an apt time to launch our product....
