Times Music launches Assamese folk fusion album

MUMBAI: Violinist Sunita Khaund Bhuyan has launched an Assamese folk fusion album ‘Bihu Strings’ under Times Music.

The album features five tracks based on the original Bihu melodies blended with the inherent raga patterns of the classical music world. The album attempts to demonstrate the universal seven notes in all kinds of music including classical, folk, rock, western jazz and more.

The tracks narrating Assamese life are penned by Gupta Borthakur and are crooned by Rupam Bhuyan, Sunita Bhuyan and Prasanta Kuar. The music composed by Sunita Bhuyan includes musicians like Pranjal Barua, Dibya jyoti Sangmai ( tabla) and Diganta Saikia, Lachit Gogoi (Dhol),  Shantanu Baruah (electric guitar) and Rupam Talukdaar (Keyboard and sound mixing ). The  album is also available digitally.
