Tadka FM launches in Raipur

MUMBAI: The Rajasthan Patrika led FM venture, 95 FM Tadka launched its radio station in Raipur, Chattisgarh on 28 February 2009.

Chattisgargh chief minister Raman Singh inaugurated the station. It is the fourth radio station by the group after their stations in Jaipur, Kota and Udaipur. Raipur has a listenership potential of three million, says the station.

The station will use Hinglish and play Bollywood songs. The station will also have regional RJs who are well informed about the city. The station intends to build a station around 'good humoured and light hearted' RJs who will be perceived as 'easy to connect' by listeners.

Giving a complete local touch, the song of 'Gainda Phool'- Delhi-6 fame, was played as the first song, as the song has been crafted in typical Chattisgarh folk style  The programs of Tadka include Solid Breakfast, Thadi.com, RPM, BBC ek Mulakat etc

Tadka created a buzz in Raipur using various innovative BTL activites like teaser and launch hoardings all across the city, banners, no parking boards etc, it has also tied up with a leading Daily Newspaper for several activities, and has also tied up with multiplexes as a part of its promotional activity.

The local flavour that has been given to the station in Raipur is brought out in its evening prime time i.e. 5-9 pm called Tadka Chowpati..., to keep the flavor of chowpati. Apparently, Chowpati was a famous place in Raipur where family and youths use to come to enjoy their evenings and which was very recently demolished.
