MUMBAI: Expanding its footprints in the production space, major record label T-Series has signed a five-film deal with Vikram Bhatt's ASA Productions to produce films in the science-fiction, thriller and horror genre.

The first film from the association will be 'Bhaag Johnny', a supernatural thriller with Kunal Khemu that will go on floors in January 2013.

Kumar will don the producer's hat for all the movies, while Bhatt is set to direct two films - one an action flick in the sci-fi genre and the second one will feature Bipasha Basu as the leading lady.

T-Series CMD Bhushan Kumar said, "We are happy to associate with Vikram Bhatt, he has an impressive track-record with his films."

Commenting on the association, Bhatt said, "Bhushan and his company understand the value of a new idea and they are willing to cross frontiers to make films of the future. It's rare to find partners who share your belief and vision."
