MUMBAI: It's an innocuous sounding title: Roy. But tt's been making newspaper headlines. First for the fact that it is produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series. Second because it is directed by Vikramjit Singh.Then there were the leaks that  India's heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor was staging a guest appearance in the film.

Now the latest is that Bhushan Kumar and Ranbir Kapoor favourite Pritam is likely to score the music for the film. While Pritam's hiring as the music composer was not confirmed but he is known to be a Ranbir favourite as well as some one who is championed by Bhushan Kumar himself.

And wait there's more: the grapevine has it that Ranbir is not making a guest appearance in this slick film with very intense characters. Rather, the passionate director's actor  will be playing the dynamic title role of Roy.  And he has committed to give as much time required to shoot for his role to ensure that it does justice to his character.

"Ranbir has given his dates for 45 days for Roy. The other actor we have finalised on is Arjun Ramphal," says a source. "And then there is Jacqueline Fernandez."

The film which is slated to release on 20 June 2014 has Divya Kumar, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar credited as producers.
