T-Series bags audio rights of Golmaal, Golmaal Returns

T-Series has acquired the audio rights of the 2006 multi starrer comedy Golmaal from Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd, to prepare for a marketing blitzkriieg along with its recent music rights acquisition, Golmaal Returns. The music of Golmaal Returns has been scored by Pritam while the lyrics have been written by Sameer. The music of the 2006 Golmaal had been scored by Vishal-Shekhar. The single-CD pack to be released by T-Series for Golmaal Returns will have 15 songs, as well as the songs of Golmaal.

Previously the branding and marketing of the movie was done by the music label Venus and the audio visual copyright were with Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd. We have acquired the music rights of the sequel and by acquiring the rights of the older version, we will be able to brand the new product better. We are soon going to release a CD which would be a compilation of old and the new songs,... T- Series marketing media publishing head Vinod Bhanushali told Radionanmdusic.com.
Golmaal is a brand in itself and we have acquired the copyright of the brand. We have already started airing teasers of the compiled CDs. The TV campaign has to be high pitched to sell the audio of Golmaal and we have planned our strategy accordingly,... avers Bhanushali.

The sequel, directed by Rohit Shetty, has Ajay Devgan, Tusshar Kapoor and Arshad Warsi with Shreyas Talpade enacting the role originally played by Sharman Joshi. Kareena Kapoor, Anjana Sukhani, Amrita Arora and Celina Jaitley are new additions to the cast.

T-Series has acquired the exclusive copyrights including audio and audio visual songs (in all video formats) and of literary, dramatic and music work which includes ringtones in all formats, all songs of Golmaal.
