T-Series acquires audio rights of 'Shaadi Ke Side Effects'

MUMBAI: Reigning over the bollywood music market by adding big budget films in its repertoire, leading music label T-Series has added another feather in its cap. The label has acquired the audio rights of Pritish Nandy Communications upcoming film ‘Shaadi Ke Side Effects’.

The catchy tunes and popular songs of the previous version ‘Pyaar ke Side Effects’ was composed by Pritam Chakroborty, who has been roped in for the sequel as well.

T-Series president-marketing and promotions Vinod Bhanushali confirmed the development to Radioandmusic.com but refuse to divulge any details about the investment. Bhanushali said, “We have a lot of ideas for the promotion of the film which will revolve around the title. Music will also play a key part in the marketing and it will definitely be bigger than the first part of the film – Pyaar ke Side Effects. 2012 has been a great year for us and we are looking forward to a musical 2013 as well.”

T-Series CMD Bhushan Kumar said, “The music of the first film was well received and the songs were tremendously successful. The expectation from the sequel is higher and Pritam and PNC will not disappoint, they will go beyond the expectations. This film album is surely going to be on the top of the charts.”

While the 2006 hit, featured the story of Sid and Trisha, the sequel takes it ahead with Vidya Balan and Farhan Akhtar. While Balan plays the role of a Delhi girl, Farhan will be playing a Bombay boy, depicting their journey where they get married and what changes come in their married life, the transformation in their relationship and how they tackle the changes. The film goes on floors this year-end and will be directed by Saket Chaudhary again. The film is slated to release in 2013.

With the label also venturing into production apart from distribution, 2013 is all set to be a musical year with around five films from its kitty. Apart from its home productions like Nautanki Saala, Aashiqui 2, Yaariyan and more, T-Series has also acquired the audio rights for upcoming films like Akash Vani, Jaawani Deewani and Krrish amongst others.
