Swarathma heads to Singapore for Sutasi

BANGALORE: Radio City Live winner band Swarathma is making its first international trip to Singapore to participate in the 'Sutasi' Song Contest and Talent Search (Sutasi) on 1 October 2008.

99 regional finalists from all over Asia will converge in Singapore for a chance to gain a place in the Grand Final of Sutasi. The filming of the event is taking place at the NUS Cultural Centre Hall on 3, 5 and 7 October, and will be aired at a later date.

Through a series of broadcast shows, Sutasi aims to showcase the best contestants Asian countries have to offer in a regional playoff within South East Asia, North East Asia and South Asia. The winners of each region advance to the grand final gala to determine Asia's best solo artist, best band and best songwriter.

The winners are selected by music industry experts from around the world, as well as the audience. Grand finalists will share over one million US dollars in cash and prizes including the opportunity to co-write with successful and international songwriters, record an album with commercially successful producers, global marketing and promotion, and the star role in a music video for worldwide release.

Sutasi is an annual event that brings to Asia a new platform to discover unsigned, contemporary musical talent and to launch this talent on the international stage. Sutasi is hosted by Asia Sounds which is a global music publishing, talent management, television production and event broadcasting company led by, its president and chairman Colleen Zulian.

Meanwhile, Swarathma, which returns to the country on 8 October, has completed the recording of its debut album.
