Suvarna plans content syndication of talk show with radio, print

BANGALORE: Star Network's Kannada offering Suvarna TV is in talks with a couple of Bangalore radio stations and a couple of Kannada newspapers for sharing the content of a new talk show that it will start airing on the 9 to 10 pm slot on weekends, every Saturday and Sunday starting 23 July.

The show, 'Lion Oats Neena? Naana?' (You or me?), will be hosted by Bollywood and South Indian female actor and talk show presenter Lakshmi.

'Neena? Naana?' replaces the comedy show 'Majja with Sujja' (Fun with Sujja) which will commence re-airing after a hiatus, revealed sources at Suvarna TV.

"We are talking airing excerpts of the show on radio and sharing the content with a couple of Kannada newspapers. We had done something similar with our radio partners (Radio) Mirchi for Kannada Film awards through which we created viewer interest. Mirchi aired snippets of prominent Sandalwood actors before the Kannada Film Awards show was broadcast on television, creating viewers interest in the property," revealed Suvarna TV business head Anup Chandrasekharan.

The new talk show will be a platform for common people to voice their point on issue of concern. Two sides of the issue will be presented, debated and concluded without being judgmental.

"Lakshmi drives the show as anchor, guide, mentor and friend to both sides. Sensitive issues will be debated, analysed and concluded with Lakshmi's celebrated analytical and discussion skills, as she had demonstrated in our earlier show "Kathe Alla Jeevana," said Chandrasekharan.

The first episode - 'Front Benchers v/s Backbenchers in class' has been canned with two Sandalwood celebrities - male actor Upendra vying for the back benchers and female actor Priyanka for the front benchers. Depending upon the topic, Suvarna plans to bring in celebrities for other episodes as and when required.

Lion Oats is the anchor sponsor for the show. "We are sure to have more sponsors once the show goes on air and gains in popularity," said Chandrasekharan.
