Sunburn back with anthem and video contest for EDM artists

MUMBAI:  To promote Electronic Dance Music (EDM) talent in India and Asia on a global platform, annual property Sunburn Anthem & Video Contest (SAVC) is back in the second year.

Providing an opportunity to DJs and VFX artists, the contest entails two components: Audio Remixing for the music composers and VFX creation for the Visual Jockeys.

This year audio contestants can  remix original parts of a track by Richard Durand called ‘Paint the sky’ into a new and original composition which will become the Sunburn Goa 2012 Anthem. Visual jockeys will be given parts of the track chosen as the Sunburn Anthem to create visuals for 60 seconds. Winners of the contest will get a chance to play and mix visuals at Sunburn Goa 2012.

Percept Limited joint managing director Shailendra Singh said, “Sunburn is committed to its mission of nurturing talent in the EDM space. In order to spot budding talent across the globe and provide them with an international platform to showcase their skills, the SAVC this year will extend its boundaries beyond India to 15 more countries.”

All entries will be shortlisted by a jury, headed by Nikhil Chinapa. In addition to playing at Sunburn, winners will receive an all expenses paid trip to Sunburn 2012, from anywhere in the world and goodies. The winning track will also feature on the Sunburn Goa 2012 compilation along with acclaimed international and domestic artists. Entries shortlisted by the jury will be up for voting and lucky voters, who participate in the online vote to choose a winner, stand a chance to win free tickets to Sunburn Goa 2012.

A special micro-site has been designed to host entries for participants, both for audio and visual categories. Winners of the SAVC will be announced on 24 December 2012.
