Sudesh Bhosle bags Mother Teresa Millenium award

MUMBAI: Sudesh Bhosle won the Mother Teresa Millenium Award recently. He was honoured with this award for his contribution to the music industry.

"It was very touching and a great honour from such an institution," says the singer. The singer is popularly known for lending his voice to several Amitabh Bachchan songs. Ravi Chopra's Bhoothnath is one of the recent films he has sung for the Big B.

The Mother Teresa Awards were created to honour those who beautify the world through their unique gifts and talents. The award is a statuette of a modernized Mother Teresa, and was created by R.S. Owens Company of Chicago, which produces the Oscar statuettes for the Academy Awards. Among others who were honoured with the award were Rani Mukherjee, hockey star Dhanraj Pillai, football hero Samar Banerjee, tennis player Aktar Ali and singer Anup Jalota.
