NEW DELHI: The Delhi-based band Eka which has held over 2000 concerts in 15 countries and recorded over 100 songs – is doing its bit to coincide with the World Environment Day this year.

Eka has very recently released five tracks and a music video as a tribute to Mother Earth. The band has taken the onus to spread awareness and initiate action amongst the youth on environmental issues that are of concern worldwide.

To mark this event, there will be a screening on 3 June at the ICCR Auditorium, Azad Bhavan, of Eka’s video ‘She’s beautiful (There is only one Earth)’ followed by a live performance by the band.

The band consists of Benjamine ‘Benny’ Pinto on Keyboards (Ex-Euphoria), Hitesh ‘Rikki’ Madan on guitars and vocals (Ex-Euphoria) and Lokesh Madan on vocals. Eka will be accompanied on stage by young and aspiring musicians from different schools and colleges, all students of Aria Music & Theatre Conservatory, to perform on these Earth Care tracks.

She's beautiful (There is only one Earth) is a simple song that personifies the incredible beauty of mother Earth. The underlying message in the video of the song is that all of us can do small things to preserve the gifts of Mother Nature.

Calling its music ‘Swatantra Rock’, Eka has earlier performed at prestigious events like Mountain Echoes Literary Festival( Bhutan),The Times of India Earth Care Awards, United Nations Initiative for Women & Children’s Health, International Film Festival of India (Goa), Finale of Bengaluru Habba, Chivas Studio Spotlight & The Great Indian October Fest among others.

The band – which was given the Best Group award at ArtistAloud Awards 2011 – has recorded some very heart-rending songs to eulogize mother earth.
