Spikes Asia 2011 records 12.6% increase of radio entries

MUMBAI: With an increase of 12.6% radio entries this year, a total of 143 entries have been submitted at the 'Spikes Asia Festival 2011', with 22 being from India.

Overall an increase of 19% has been recorded, with a total of 612 entries from India, followed by Australia with 443, Singapore - 429, China - 372, and Japan - 366 entries, amounting to a total of 3647 entries from 17 countries.

The awards are judged by leading international and regional creatives, in the categories of Film, Print, Outdoor, Radio, Digital, Integrated, Direct, Sales Promotion, Media, Print Craft, Film Craft, Design, Mobile and PR.

Spikes Asia co-chairman Terry Savage said, As the largest awards in Asia-Pacific, we are delighted with the continued support of the industry in the region, demonstrated by this incredible growth. Spikes Asia is the place to see the region's great creative work across all the different disciplines, including the two new categories for this year – Mobile and PR. Winning a much sought-after Spike, provides important recognition, inspiration and motivation for both agencies and clients alike....

The winners will be announced and honoured during the Spikes Asia awards ceremony that will be held on the last day at the Esplanade Theatre. Other accolades to be revealed during the awards ceremony are: Agency of the Year, Media Agency of the Year, Network of the Year, and the new Independent Agency of the Year. Samsonite will be honoured with the 2011 Advertiser of the Year award.

The Spikes Asia Festival will be held on 18-20 September 2011 at Suntec City, Singapore. The festival is jointly organised by Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and Haymarket, publishers of Campaign Asia.
