MUMBAI: Big FM announced performers and artistes today for the 'Tamil Melody Awards' in Chennai.

Legendry SP Balasubramaniam, singers Vasundhara Das, Vijay Prakash, James Vasanthan and music composer Bharadwaj will perform at the awards. Das, Prakash, Bharadwaj, Vasanthan amongst others gave a sneak preview of their performances by singing unplugged on-air.

Balasubramanian is the face of the awards this year while Bharathwaj and Vasanthan along with versatile singer Unnikrishnan are the jury members. 15 popular categories will be nominated by the jury and thereafter decided by listeners through voting, while one award will be conferred by the jury directly, summing to 16 awards in total.

Celebrating 82 years of Tamil music, the awards to be held on 28 June will honour and applaud singers and musicians.
