Sony releases '10 Ka Dum' music video

MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Television has launched a video for the promotion of its new Salman Khan hosted show 10 Ka Dum. The video which will hit the tube on 15 May sees the actor shaking a leg to the specially composed hip hop number.

The track is choreographed by Rajeev Surthi while musical duo Sajid Wajid has composed it. Wajid in addition to composing the score has also lent his voice for the track. The lyrics have been written by Jalees Sherwani. This trio has also recently done a track for Preity Zinta's IPL team Kings XI Punjab with Daler Mehndi. Speaking on the release, Sony Entertainment business head Albert Almeida said, "The show has a very universal character wherein everybody and anybody can participate. It is built around questions that everybody relates to. and music is one thing our Indian audience definitely looks forward to. So we came up with the idea of the video."

Says Sajid, "Salman has been so excited about the show and was very keen that the music and video be very different from anything currently on air."

He further adds, "The theme of the game show is very good- giving away lots of money to people. So we planned to do something that suited the game show and its host rather than concentrate on the ambience and technical aspects.

The music video has a deliberate Bollywood theme to go with Salman's star status and attitude while it exudes a next-gen feel with dialogues and marching beats. Salman has always inspired us to give our best."

Denying any comparisons with the Shah Rukh Khan's video for Paanchvi Pass or Kaun Banega Crorepati, Sajid said, "Videos are a new way of promoting the shows. Both the shows are very different from each other, hence no comparisons." Wajid added, "We are not only looking forward to see the song on television but also in pubs and clubs. People can download the song as their ringtone. We want to promote it in every way possible."
