Sony Music pockets audio rights of 'Podaa Podi'

MUMBAI: Expanding its presence in the Tamil music market, Sony Music Entertainment has now acquired the audio rights of Tamil romantic film 'Podaa Podi'.

The score and soundtrack of the film is composed by Dharan. The music album consists of six tracks including a theme and Bhangra track. Actor Silambarasan (STR) has sung two tracks and penned the Bhangra number rendered by Vijaya T Rajendar. Composer-singer Yuvanshankar Raja has also rendered one track, while the title song ‘Podaa Podi’ is sung by Benny Dayal and actress-singer Andrea Jeremiah. The label claims that the music of the film will release in coming weeks.

Written & directed by debutant Vignesh Shivaa, the romantic musical film features Silambarasan (STR) and debutant Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in lead roles.  The plot revolves around a guy from Chennai who flies to a foreign country where he falls in love with a girl born and brought up there. With all the turns and twists, the film registers three stages in life of a man and woman. Major portion of the film is shot in London and one song is shot in Disneyland, Hong Kong.

Sony music had recently acquired the audio rights of much anticipated Tamil movie ‘Neethane Enn Ponvasantham’ for an altitudinous price of Rs 25 million.
