Sony Music partners with IODA; provides global distribution to Indian labels and artist

* Partnership broadens IODA's international presence and provides Sony India with Worldwide Distribution Arm

MUMBAI: Sony Music Entertainment India and IODA- (Independent Online Distribution Alliance) has announced a partnership to provide global distribution for Indian labels and distributors.

The tie up with Sony Music Entertainment India will offer Indian labels and Indie/Independent artist a new digital landscape to access seamless distribution network across audio and video digital retailers. This would include all major services like iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Netflix, Unbox, CinemaNow and mobile carriers such as Verizon Wireless, Sprint and Vodafone 

The platform provides an online dashboard which enables Artists and Labels to access real time download sales data of their music and videos on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Netflix + 600 online and mobile outlets 

An additional valuable feature of the distribution network is â€?Promonet' an online promotional system specifically designed to help fans discover and share music from thousands of top independent artists and labels around the world. An opportunity for artist and labels to connect through over 3000 blogs, podcasts, internet radio stations, social networking and music websites 

With a wide presence across genres ranging from Indi-Pop, Indian Classical, to Bollywood and Tamil Film Soundtracks, Sony Music Entertainment India witnessed a huge opportunity through this association

Artist such as Bickram Ghosh, Rashid Khan, Labh Januja, Raj Brar, Lehmber Hussainpuri signed on to Indya Records and Frankfinn Entertainment are among the first to take advantage of the IODA/Sony Music India partnership to expose their music to more fans in other countries
