MUMBAI: Aiming to strengthen its position in the bollywood music market, music label Sony Music Entertainment has announced a strategic tie-up with Eros International for the music of their forthcoming film ‘Go Goa Gone’.

The music of ‘Go Goa Gone’ will be distributed under the co-branding of Sony Music and Eros Music labels. This is the first Hindi film tie-up between the music label and Eros International Media Ltd.

Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, Sony Music Entertainment India & Middle East president Sridhar Subramaniam said, “It’s a great product and features good music with some very strong tracks. We have acquired the music rights of the film and will be handling the marketing and distribution of the film’s music. This is our first tie-up and we hope to go a long way.”

The music for the film has been composed by popular composer duo Sachin-Jigar for ‘Go Goa Gone’. The first single titled Slow Slowly has already taken the internet by storm. It is an all out party song and has the youth grooving to it. Music directors Sachin-Jigar have always managed to touch the pulse of the audiences and make music which became instant hits. Releasing on 10 May, the film is a zombie comedy film directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D K starring Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Khemu, Vir Das, Anand Tiwari and Puja Gupta.

The music label had earlier tied up with the company for the music of the Tamil period film Kochadaiyaan which is stated for a July 2013 release. They are now in talks with Eros to acquire more such projects in the future.

“There are a lot of conversations happening currently and we are hoping to acquire some more projects in the future. Let’s see how things work out as it is still too early to talk about it,” he added.

In a statement, Eros International Media Ltd MD Sunil Lulla said, “"We are happy to partner with Sony Music, an established player in the music domain for the sound track of Go Goa Gone, which is very upbeat and aptly suited to the film's genre. By joining hands together, we hope to optimally exploit this highly anticipated title.”

The nature of the deal will be something to look out for in the near future to see how it develops, as Eros also releases music on its own label. With this film too, the association is a co-branding between Sony Music and the label of Eros as well. Moreover, the company was also stated to be in partnership with another leading music label T-Series for the music distribution of their films.
