Sony Music extends partnership with Eros for 'Raanjhanaa'

MUMBAI: After announcing a strategic tie-up with Eros International for the music of Go Goa Gone, leading record label Sony Music has now extended the association to market the music of the upcoming love saga ‘Raanjhanaa’.

The soundtrack has been composed by music maestro AR Rahman and reportedly features seven contemporary tracks highlighting the essence of love and simplicity. The music label will distribute and promote the music across all physical and digital platforms.

Sony Music Entertainment India marketing director Sanujeet Bhujabal said, “We are delighted to be associated with Eros International for its second release of this year. The trailer of Raanjhanaa was released recently and has already accumulated a huge response. We are extremely confident that AR Rahman’s music will connect hugely with the music fans at all levels.”

Meanwhile aiming to re-create the success of Go Goa Gone through co-branding by both the companies, the Hindi and Tamil original soundtrack of ‘Raanjhanaa’ will be distributed under the co-branding of Sony Music and Eros Music labels. The album is slated to release within the next few weeks.

Eros International Media Ltd president business development Kumar Ahuja said, “We are very happy to align with Sony Music and follow up the success of Go Goa Gone with Raanjhanaa.  Raanjhanaa has a magical score by AR Rahman which will definitely strike a chord with listeners and we are looking forward to the response to the album.”

The romantic film set in the streets of Delhi and Varanasi, stars Sonam Kapoor and marks the bollywood debut of the south sensation Dhanush. Directed by Anand L Rai, the film is produced by Krishika Lulla under the banner Eros International. The film is scheduled to release on 21 June, 2013.
