Sony Music Enters Into a Strategic Alliance with Promo Sapiens

NEW DELHI: Sony Music has entered into a strategic alliance with Promo Sapiens to book and market its talent including Indian Idol -5 (Except Sreeram) and India's Got Talent.

Promo Sapiens will work as booking agents while Sony music continues to develop and manage their careers.

The talent list include artist and performers like Bhoomi Trivedi, Rakesh Maini, Swaroop Khan, Shivam Pathak, Tia Kar, Naushad Ali Kawa, Manisha Karmarkar, Arpita Khan, Shashi Suman, Yashraj Kapil, Prince Dance Group, Fictitious Group, Vinod Thakur, Pradeep Kashikar, Arpita Kar, Jaipur Beats, Prachi Garud, Harihar Dash, Underground Authority, Ankur Rana and Sanjay Mondol and Group.

Talking about the association, Sameer Shah who is Head of Artists and talent Business said Sony Music has been shaping the managing careers of artistes for many years now, in fact at some point or the other they have been responsible for shaping the careers of artistes like K K, Master Salim, Sona Mahaptra, Kailash Kher, Abhijit Sawant and many more. Amongst the newer talents that we are managing and focusing on are contestants from Indian Idol -5 including the winner Sreeram. We will also manage contestants of IGT- Khoj 2 apart from many other artists. To further maximise the revenue potential of the artist and unlock value, we decided to enter into a tie up with Promo Sapiens to enhance the revenue potential from show bookings....

This strategic alliance has perfect synergy wherein both Promo Sapiens and Sony Music will bring their expertise in the respective areas which will enhance the volume of live shows and create other opportunities to maximise revenues, says Pakul Chaturvedi who is the Chief; Asia Pacific at Promo Sapiens, the company which exclusively manages some of the biggest artistes in the business like Kailash Kher, and Hard Kaur to name a few. He said besides riding on the existing network, Promo had partnered with Moksh Events of Kolkata to expand the reach to eastern India markets. Promo will also create proprietary events for these artists and will experiment ideas with inventive combinations.

Shashi Bokadia, Director Moksh Events and Business Head for this venture, said We will work on innovative pricing structures and  consolidated deals with major players .We will be  implementing  a planned marketing campaign, to reach to the maximum number of event and artist managers....
