Sony Ericsson launches phone with new music experience

Mumbai: Sony Ericsson has launched its latest generation Walkman phone, the W910i, in India with two new features - Shake Control and SensMe.

"Sony Ericsson created Shake Control and SensMe?? because we want music lovers to experience their music on a whole new level. We are confident that users will have hours of fun shaking up their music and exploring the SensMe?? feature to match the right tracks to your mood. The W910i aims to redefine `music on your mobile` and signifies the coming of age of the Walkman® phone," said Sudhin Mathur, General Manager, Sony Ericsson India.

Shake Control is an innovative new way that allows you to better control your music choices. By flicking the W910i one way or the other, you can skip to the next or previous track. By shaking the phone back and forth, this will shuffle the playlist. Beyond music, you can also play motion sensing games on the W910i.

A first for Sony Ericsson and the W910i, SensMe allows you to choose songs and create playlists based on your moods, rather than by artists or album. Tracks on the W910i are presented in a unique visual which shows each song as dots in a matrix and places them according to tempo and style. This lets you experience your music in an entirely different way, helping you to create soundtracks for your life.

The new media browser on the W910i Walkman phone places all of your media in one central area, making it easy to access music, video or podcasts from one single icon on your phone menu.

According to the company, the W910i Walkman phone helps you sort out your various media files, even before they reach the phone. The new Media Manager PC programme lets you organise your music, photos and podcasts on your PC and transfer them either via USB to your phone or directly into your MemoryStick Micro?? (M2??) card with the bundled matching USB adaptor, so the same memory card works as a pen drive. An incredibly simple tool to use, you can for example search and select music on your computer or audio CDs and convert the tracks to mobile-compatible formats before the transfer takes place, thus saving time as well as your phone`s resources.

The phone has room for over 1800 songs on the W910i 2GB Memory Stick Micro provided and provides high-speed Web access for faster downloads. With a large 2.36-inch bright crystal 262,000 TFT screen, the W910i delivers great multimedia experiences with auto-rotate capabilities - be it music, 3D games, video, or high-speed Web access. The feature-packed slider phone weighs 86 grams, is 12.5 mm slim, and will retail for around Rs 19000.
